We have just got some "new" computers in the media center lab. They have Windows 7 on them, which is an upgrade from our old ones. I went looking for some guides to help my students understand Windows 7 better (even though if they have a computer at home they most likely have been using it for awhile). Here are some links to ones that I found. Guide #1 Guide #2

Here are some activities for you if it gets too cold and rainy to trick-or-treat.
ABCYA! Halloween Funschool Halloween Halloween Arcade agame Halloween Halloween Mountain Enjoy! It has been crazy here at the beginning of the year. I have many new improvements that will be coming soon. I am looking forward to sharing them with the class.
Welcome back students! I hope that you are ready for another fun filled year! I am looking forward to seeing you in class and around school. Catch you later.
Mr. Quick I want to wish all my students a great summer and I will be seeing most of you next year. Please keep in mind that I will be posting occasionally and will try to keep you in the know about any cool tech things that are coming this summer.

Random link 04 Random link 05 Have fun with this weeks random links! I have been revamping the site and I just finished with the free stuff page. I added a link to a website called Kerpoof. It is a great place to create artwork, videos, animations, cards, and other stuff. The program download link that I added was for a piece of software called GIMP. GIMP is a powerful program that allows you to create and alter images. It is quite similar to Photoshop, but it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars.
I have been working on the website for the past couple of days trying to make it look better and handle easier. So far so good. My classes have been programming with Scratch this week. They have made some cool projects. I will try to get some posted in the next couple of weeks. I have a bunch of Scratch how-to's and references that I will be posting soon so students can continue to work on what they started in class.
My site was in dire need of an update so I decided to change the look and some of the organization. I think that this is an improvement, but let me know what you think.
This week ends the first week of the new trimester here at South Lake. This site needs some updating and I plan on making that happen over the next week. I miss my groups from last trimester, but I am looking forward to teaching and learning with a new group of students.
